How To Live With Chronic Inspiration!
It is a condition so scarce it has really not been completely proven as of in addition in the Western World. I am guessing that the total number of new situations reported in North America last year alone numbered less than 10% of the population. This is a serious condition which can be life altering.
The symptoms of Chronic Inspiration are: Easy laughter, endless smiling, lots of energy, the ability to proportion your joy with others, and the ability to not be affected negatively by the pressures of our everyday life.
Have you ever wondered why in this sometimes ‘tattered’ world we live in we see people so afflicted?
For years I was prejudice against people with this irritating affliction – silently muttering to myself ‘Oh yeah must be nice to have absolutely no worries, no stress in your life whatsoever’. However, I have also found this scarce state to be completely interesting. Interesting enough to truly want to find out what makes these scarce ‘kind’ of people tick. In doing so – I have truly learned to become a person just like those irritating people that I used to promptly cluck my tongue at.
I couldn’t find a medical definition of this state in any Medical Journal, however I did find a description in a simple dictionary.
Inspiration by dictionary definition states the meanings as:
1. an inspiring or animating action or influence
2. something inspired ,as an idea
3. a consequence of a inspired activity
4. a thing or person that inspires
5. theology – a divine influence directly and closest exerted upon the mind and soul – the divine quality of the writings or words of a person so influenced.
These are all very cliché and cut and dry definitions. To me inspiration is that gut feeling of excitement – knowing that you are really on to something, whether it be a new idea or a hope for doing something differently. Everyone is capable of being inspired – we just don’t look for it – it really is all around us. Why don’t we look for inspiration all the time? Good question – I think we tend to get caught up in our negative holding patterns – for anyone that has lived to see adulthood you know what I am talking about. We tend to put our ‘blinders’ on for fear of truly breaking out of our comfort zone. But the price we pay is with 1000 % interest.
Without inspiration life would be truly one dimensional. Unfortunately, many and I dare say a good hefty portion of us do live in that one size. Work , bills, family, mortgage, car-pool, if you have kids – perpetual taxi service.
Have you ever found yourself thinking and perhaps already bold to utter the words ‘Is this it?’ ‘Is this all that life has to offer me?’
Think about that. I know that a lot of us have thought or said this , probably more than once. But perhaps we are thinking backwards. Instead of wondering what life has to offer us – just maybe we should rephrase that and think ‘What can I offer to this life?’
Ahhhh that is the meaningful – give and you shall receive. I think that is how that saying goes. Well it is so true.
Have you ever picked up a book and thought OK let’s see what these clowns have to say – and you may already be thinking “Oh here we go – one of those guru’s talking about what they have never really already lived before in addition they are going to inspire me” Well believe me I have picked up a good many books in my life. A lot of them are just blowing wind . But you know every once in awhile you find this book that just knocks the socks off of you.
You seem to be reading and suddenly you feel like ‘ Oh my !’this author knows exactly what I am feeling!!! “Wow there truly is another person on this planet who gets me!” That is a wonderful feeling. You can’t buy that feeling from anywhere. Not already with your American Express Card. Then you forge on – at this point you can’t put the book down – certainly this author is writing this for your assistance alone… then something miraculous begins to happen….you feel inspired. You feel like “Hey I can do this!!!!” Alright my life is going to change for the better because of these words! It is amazing how one can really connect to a set of letters placed on a page.
I have been inspired by so many different authors and people. Mostly I would like to name Dr. Wayne Dyer. I have read his work for over ten years. He is a man that truly inspires my desire to be a better person – to make a difference in my own life and the lives of those people around me. To me pure pleasure is to snuggle up with one of his amazing books and to read until my eyes hurt.
Then when I am fully inspired – I spring from my lazy boy chair and I am ready to set the world on fire with my inspired ideas! My mind is alive with all of the possibilities , all that I could do. I could change my life!!!!!
Well ideas and inspiration are wonderful tools for change. However, without action I have found that these great feelings of inspiration and ideas don’t make it past the doorway of our minds if we just slide back into our lazy boy chairs.
We have to jump up and truly do something. ….Hmmm I know I know, what a foreign concept. Most of us are so good at thinking and imagining and expertly controlling our lives from the comfort of our own my minds but doing it in ‘real time’ does take some doing.
But don’t despair!!! If you crave that ‘gut’ feeling for being inspired then you have half the battle won. The next half is truly taking ACTION.
There are so many places and things to inspire us. The best part of it is that you don’t have to have your pockets lined with money to truly be inspired.
Next time you go outside, look at the very first bird you see….find beauty in it. Watch how it moves and how it hops . Notice how it is completely oblivious to the hustle and bustle of what we as humans have deemed so important. I have done this with our neighbourhood pesky old Raven. He is the size of a small dog. I see him every morning rifling by the neighbours trash can. I have decided to call him Mr. Black. Funny though, he doesn’t seem to know his name in addition.
It is the little stuff like that that makes a day worth getting out of bed for. Children have that fascination and sense of hope all of the time…..try watching how a child reacts to a balloon. It is truly amazing. As we get older, we lose that sense of surprise, that sense of timelessness….
INSPIRATION IS TO TRULY BELIEVE THAT WE ARE nevertheless CAPABLE OF CHASING OUR DREAMS, OUR PASSIONS.
We all have moments of inspiration. They don’t have to be few and far between.
One can truly live an inspiring life – this condition although scarce, has many good side-effects and it is extremely contagious. You could already call it a communicable disease. Although please don’t go to your local STD clinic to be tested for it.
So next time you run into someone who just seems like their world is on fire with happiness – don’t try to put out their fire , try to engulf yourself in their flame.
May each one of us find, hope, inspiration and love in our everyday lives!
