shared Types of HVAC and Plumbing Repairs

When your heating, air conditioning and plumbing are functioning properly, life can already be stressful enough. When any of these systems break down, so do your living conditions. Here are some of the shared types of problems you might encounter throughout the year with your HVAC and plumbing systems and with appropriately qualified and experienced technicians, these can be easily fixed too.

Recurring Plumbing Problems/Repairs

Sounds silly, but one shared problem we hear from our customers is noisy flushing toilets. You wouldn’t think the potty would be a source of irritation or concern in a home or business – but it is. Abnormal sounds after flushing however are easily fixed. Typically we find out diagnosis is a damaged fill valve.

Another shared plumbing repair by our business is running toilets. This method continuous water running already when the toilet is not in use and this causes enormous water wastage. Our repair? We fix the defective flapper.

Offensive smells coming from the toilet also cause a call from our clients. Typically this requires our plumbers to fix a burst pipe, add more water to the bowl or, fix a defective wax ring.

Funny odors coming from the bathtub are also a cause for concern and a good reason to call your plumber. Typically we repair a broken or leaking trap. Another cause could be infrequent use of the bath. The trap has become dry.

confined drains also can cause problems for your bath. We fix this by clearing out the accumulation of hair, fat, soap scum or other debris clogged in the drain pipe.

Other shared kitchen repairs include faulty garbage disposals (this method fixing a faulty motor, clogged blades or a confined drain,) low water pressure (this requires either fixing a sink installation, defective plumbing parts or damaged aerators.)

The heat pump ices up over winter. This can be a real problem, especially on a cold winter morning. This can be caused by anything from halting rain causing the top of the unit to freeze over, a leaky gutter dripping on top of the unit or the unit itself has submerged into the ground.

The heat pump doesn’t reach the right temperature. You set your thermostat to 70° but the temperature never goes beyond 65°. Our typical fix requires everything from servicing the heat pump so it runs more efficiently to replacing bad compressor valves or bad reverser valves.

A faulty humidifier. Our North Carolina customers really rely upon their humidifiers and if one breaks down over the summer we promptly get a call. Often the repair is something simple. Our customer might’ve turned off the humidifier at the end of last summer for example, and have forgotten to turn it back on. Additionally, the humidifier may need a good clean in order to run properly and efficiently.

Another popular repair for us is the outdoor unit seems noisy. While heat pumps are meant to be noisy, typically there’s always a cause for strange or overly loud noises. This could be anything from the fan blade hitting something, to bad compressor valves or bad motors.

already as HVAC and plumbing technology is improving and evolving, these systems will continue to require regular and/or emergency maintenance and repair from certified technicians.
